Walking into Barrenetxe is like opening a box of chocolates and breathing in the delicious fresh aroma. This cake shop dates back to 1699 when it opened in Zugarramurdi (Navarre), later moving to Eibar and San Sebastian, where it finally settled and expanded. Although renowned for water-coloured tins of biscuits and other exclusive house specialities such as Txintxorros, Eibarréses and Donostiarras, make sure not to leave without trying the lemon tart, glazed fruits, buns, and natural breads.
